Assessment Work

Further Support for Schools and Students

Therapeutic Work

Many students struggle in school and an assessment may help uncover where the difficulties are.

Following a telephone consultation, advice can be sought to see if an assessment by an E.P. is necessary. There is no obligation to continue at this stage if it is deemed inappropriate.

If it is agreed that an assessment would be appropriate a questionnaire will be sent out and an assessment date fixed.

There will be an observation of the child in their school setting. The staff will be interviewed. A psychological assessment, either cognitive or dynamic, will be conducted. A meeting will be held at the end of the school day with the parents and staff as  appropriate to discuss the findings and collaborate on ways forward.

A fully independent report written as an advocate of the child will then be sent to both parents and school. This will include: any pertinent background information, observations, interview notes, assessment outcomes and a psychological perspective of my understanding of the current situation. It will conclude with strategies and suggestions to move forwards.

Fees are expected to be paid 28 days following receipt of the invoice and report.

The cost of a full private assessment engaged by Parents/Carers will be charged at £625 and the report will not be released until the full payment has been received. The fees cover: the the time taken to consider the background information, prepare the assessment, the observation, the feedback provided verbally, and a written report recording findings and recommendations.

Any further meetings/assessments will be charged at a rate of £95 p.hour. Any additional fees such as out of county mileage or international calls will be charged in addition.

In the event of a cancellation having prepared and set the assessment date due to the student not attending without notice, 25% of the total will be billed.
